Kerim König studied Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice with a focus on Music and Media at the University of Hildesheim. During his studies, he composed his first film scores for short and animated films and deepened his knowledge in international masterclasses.
After moving to Berlin, König received his first commissions for film and TV productions. Since 2019, he has collaborated with composer Christian Biegai. In 2022, they were both nominated by the German Academy for Television in the Music category for their score for Tatort: Propheteus. In 2024, they jointly took on a teaching position in film music at the Berlin University of the Arts.
In addition to his work for film and television, König pursues his own artistic projects. He releases solo albums on the Cologne-based label Hey!blau Records, exploring compositional concepts independent of visuals. For these projects, he has collaborated with, among others, Japanese pianist Mayuko Miyata, the ensembles Scoring Berlin and Oriel Quartett, and New Zealand singer Teresa Bergman.
