Der Barcelona Krimi – Blutiger Beton

Fina Valent and Xavi Bonet are called to a crime scene at one of Barcelona’s many construction sites. Barcelona is a city of cutthroat competition. Like many major cities, the Catalan capital is suffering from gentrification.

Where simple apartment buildings once stood, luxury condos are now being built. Among the winners of this displacement is contractor Macario Herera. But now he is found beaten to death at one of his construction sites. Herera had made many enemies: his unloved business partner Nestor Rodriguez, his son Felix, who opposes Herera’s projects and is the boyfriend of Fina’s daughter Maria, and many nameless people who were driven out of their neighborhoods.

Among Herera’s victims is Ruben, a childhood friend of Xavi’s, whose life has been completely derailed by the loss of his apartment. But the investigation doesn’t just lead Xavi into a personal conflict; Fina is also compromised: Nestor Paredes was once her lover.
